Reigning champs at UGA prepare for Conclave

The University of Georgia’s chapter of The Wildlife Society is already preparing for this year’s Conclave competition. This cool annual competition gives student chapters of The Wildlife Society, or TWS, the opportunity to represent their schools in various events. Members of UGA’s Wildlife Society are generally students of the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources.

The events at Conclave test the skills and knowledge that TWS members have learned. Some of these events include a quiz bowl, plant identification, orienteering, among many other challenges. Conclave also gives participants the chance to take field trips to local refuges and facilities. Plus, the students get to network with professionals in the field.

UGA’s chapter members are actually the defending champions of Conclave, and they hope to continue to dominate the Southeastern region. Conclave will take place this year in Frostberg, Maryland in March.
